The moon drifts through a cloudy night sky in the Orient Star M45 F8 Mechanical Moonphase, reference RE-BW0008B. Created using a special inking process that imposes numerous layers of metal nanoparticles on top of each other at Shinshu Watch Studio, the experimental dial achieves visual depth in expressing the haze of clouds moving against a starry night sky. Near the six o’clock index, a moon phase disk with inlaid moons and stars made of hand-selected mother of pearl compliments the bright roman numeral indexes, while maintaining the visual symmetry so essential to the M45’s ethos.
